Ethical considerations on protecting the dignity of the unborn

With its consultation drafts for Article 118a of the Constitution and for the Human Research Act (HFG), the legislature determined and elucidated inviolable limits for medicine. In its response concerning the consultation drafts, the Council of the PCS subjected them to a critical examination. It supported the initiative of the legislator in principle, but was critical of the understanding and protection of human dignity, the treatment of people lacking mental capacity, and the task profile of ethics committees reflected in the drafts.
