500 years ago, the Reformation profoundly changed not only Christianity, but Swiss society as a whole. The “R-City Guide” app directs users to locations such as Zwingli’s birthplace in Toggenburg, the “Churer Hasenstube” or the famous “Disputation Window” inside Lausanne Cathedral and reveals the traces of this part of our history that helped to shape today’s society and went far beyond the realm of religion.
Developed by the Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches (FSPC), the “R-City Guide” app invites users to experience interactive, GPS-guided tours in eleven Swiss Reformation cities (Basel, Bern, Chur, Geneva, Ilanz, Neuenburg, Lausanne, Schaffhausen, St. Gallen, Wildhaus and Zurich).
The app is available in German, French and English. In each city, it guides users from one station to the next, pinpointing each location. In addition to explanatory articles, images and videos, it provides useful links for tourists.
R-City Guide is available for free at the App Store and Google Play.
