The Council is the governing and executive body of the Protestant Church in Switzerland PCS. It consists of seven members, in accordance with the constitution. In its current composition, the President, two Vice-Presidents and four other members broadly represent the different parts and language regions of Switzerland. Each member is elected by the Synod by a secret ballot for a term of four years.
The Council manages everyday business and the implementation of the Synod’s decisions. It represents the PCS at the national and international levels and participates with its own statements in public debates on politics and civil society.
The offices in Bern support the work of the Council, which appoints the management of the offices and oversees them.
